Have you ever been to a crowded and messy music festival and thought to yourself, “This could use 100% more camping?” Nope? Well, then, better pass Firefly, whose great appeal is the ability to roll out a sleeping bag after a long day of musical performances, and stare up at the sky in a hastily erected tent, wondering if the Port-A-Potties are going to be cleaned up overnight or if you’re going to get into a literal shitshow the next morning. Dua Lipa, Halsey, Green Day and My Chemical Romance headline, with Weezer, Big Sean, Gunna and Avril Lavigne’s comeback tour all supporting. It is a whole list of artists, regularly alternating between names that elicit a reaction of “Oh, cool!” and those causing internal shivering. But more importantly, it comes at the end of summer, one last hurrah before the leaves turn, autumn beckons us and we enter a more reflective and less sunny time. If you are not happy where you are, do what you can to change things. Whether it’s finding a new job or moving, don’t hesitate and take the plunge. We all deserve a brief respite from the avalanche of pain this life offers us. Yes, the reaper will come for you, but make him work for it.
