“ADIEU GODARD” selected for the prestigious PUNE and BENGALURU Film Festivals | Odisha News | Latest news from Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odia feature film Farewell GODARDwritten and directed by National Award Winner Amartya Bhattacharyya and produced under the banner of Swastik Arthouse was officially selected at the 20 Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) and 13th Bangalore International Film Festival (REDACTED). It is certainly a great pride to see an Odia film travel to such prestigious film festivals across the country.

Both festivals start from March 3 and will continue until March 10. In the past, the two previous films by the same director – Capital I and Runanubandha were part of the Bengaluru Film Festival.

In Pune, Adieu Godard will be screened on March 5 and 7.

The program for the Bengaluru festival has yet to be released.

The team is delighted to see such a warm response from festivals. It was WORLD PREMIERE last year (2021) at the Moscow International Film Festival and traveled to several festivals around the world like Split (Croatia), MISAFF (Canada), San Jose (Costa Rica), Bayamon (Puerto Rico), KIFF (Kolkata, India), PIFF (Pune, India), BIFFES (Bengaluru, India) and won top awards (Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor) at Siphontum Arthosue International Film Festival.

At the beginning of this year (2022)“Farewell Godard” also added to the list of Top 20 films of world cinema by filmmaker, festival director and critic Arshad Khan. The list features some of the biggest names in world cinema like Steven Spielberg, Dennis Villeneuve, Asghar Farhadi, among others.

Among the actors, the film has Choudhury Bikas Das, Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Sudharsri Madhusmita, Swastik Choudhury, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Shankar Basu Mallick and Abishek Giri while Swetapadma Satpathy, Sumit Panda, Sandip Bal, Sridhar Martha and Dr Banikanta Mishra play other important characters in the film. Mthe music for this film was composed by the talented musical director Kisaloy Royand popular rock music icon – Rupam Islam made his first song Odia with this film. The film which was produced by Swastik Arthouse in collaboration with FilmStop Entertainment and Upper Valley Films
